Design of Optimal Controllers for Unknown Dynamic Systems through the Nelder–Mead Simplex Method

This paper presents an efficient method for designing optimal controllers. First, we established a performance index according to the system characteristics. In order ensure that this is applicable even when state/output of not within allowable range, added penalty function. When use certain controller, if remains range preset time interval, function value zero. Conversely, before termination time, experiment/simulation terminated immediately, and proportional difference between at which experiment was terminated. Then, used Nelder–Mead simplex search controller parameters. The proposed has following advantages: (1) dynamic equation need be known; (2) can regardless stability open-loop system; (3) in nonlinear systems; (4) systems with measurement noise; (5) improve design efficiency.
